Alma Lyerly and Jeanette Brown have been teaching kids to sew at their shop (Alma’s Creative Arts) in Conway for some time. For several years the kids have modeled garments and displayed quilts, pillows, wall hangings, etc at the annual SATB  Fashion Show and Banquet.  We decided to take it a step further last year and invited the kids to participate in a real SATB class. This year Kathy Farmer taught the class and said it was her favorite class, here are some photos taken at that class.  These real kids ranged in age from five to thirteen.  We aren’t giving ages of the “old kids!!”

Teaching kids to sew is a project that was initiated by Alma and has been supported by our guild, Stranded Smockers and Stitchers and Sewing at the Beach.  We are so proud of Alma, Jeanette and all the kids.
